ok guys im in a little bit of a pickle here. im not sure if i should go with a AEM FIC which is a piggyback system, or if i should go with a ViPEC EMS which is a whole ECU. the piggyback is over 1500 cheaper and sounds like its a good system, just not sure if its good enough for what im trin to run

Hey man, pigy backs are good but will limit you on tuning, knowing you and what you want out of your ride you should go with the full ecu, havent really checked on the Vipec, but i know that MoTeC makes some beasts for ECU's. Check the site below.

I would say ask the guy tuning it what they are most familiar with....I know alot more shops work with the AEM....also realize you may end up losing some of your more cush features is you go with a full standalone no idea tho for sure varies per application.

VIPEC!
I have the full AEM EMS AND IT IS A POS! I hate it, I plan on going with vipec or hondata when I get back from Iraq. I will never buy any AEM computer management tools, my ems does not cold start, looses the tume at least twice a year and now my temp. guage works backwards. For a mopar, look into a MS, Mega squirt, if you do a piggy back, you can keep all of the luxuries like cruise controll, there are alot of EMS systems that take away from the functionality of the vehicle.

Let me know how it works out I am debating between the Mega squirt which is way cheaper but a little harder to get all setup (400.00) or the AEM which is PnP (plug and play) but like 2000.00
Dont know too much about the mega squirt wanna talk to some first hand owners first it seems ok and has a more grassroots rising which is why it is so cheap vs paying for a name.

I have heard that the ms is aazing, more difficult for a first time tune but works like a champ. I believe that the new gen ms's are sold out tho?

Long as it can handle the basics in fuel control you should be just fine with a 500 target.

Re: AEM FIC vs ViPEC EMS
I dont see why it wouldnt long as you have all the supporting fuel upgrades you should be able to reach that goal on that level of build and displacement.
